After actress Ricki Lake gave birth to her first child in the hospital followed by a home waterbirth, she was inspired to create this thought-provoking documentary that examines and questions the way American women give birth.  The bold film interlaces intimate birth stories with surprising historical, political and scientific insights and informative statistics about the current maternity care system.
